Export your chat
Pick your app. WhatsApp takes about a minute. Tangu reads the file on your device and only needs the words, plus any photos you choose.

Open WhatsApp and open the chat.

Tap the three dots, then More, then Export chat.

Choose Without media, or Include media if you want to add photos from the chat.

Choose Files or Save to device, and save it.

Come back to Tangu and tap Choose file.
Troubleshooting
If either of you switched on Advanced Chat Privacy for this chat, WhatsApp blocks exporting. Tangu can't get around this, and won't try.
That's normal on iPhone, and for Slack. Pick the .zip.
WhatsApp exports your latest 40,000 messages. That's plenty for a Story. Other text files can be up to 50MB.
Only if you want photos from the chat in the Story. It's slower, and the photos stay on your device until you pick them and pay.
Instagram and Messenger downloads hold every chat. Unzip it and pick message_1.json from the one person's folder.
Group and team chats work with the At work edition, where you pick the colleague you're honouring. For partners, family and friends, pick a chat between the two of you.
